Oh vegans

Not that I don't support vegetarianism. But you gotta talk about environmental impact, health issues; concrete reasons. When we think we can't determine the existence of God, we go agnostic. When we can't know for sure whether plants suffer, I don't know what we can do, probably not going vegetarian, cos plants don't want to be eaten, too. Well, following the moral vegetarian "logic", we really shouldn't be eating anything, shouldn't be doing anything either except killing ourselves — be careful we might kill some insects or bacteria during the process. Or, you can try killing your mother first.

I don't mean we should kill 'em all. I totally support animal ethics, support plant ethics, if we have the ability to embrace them. When it's inevitable to consume so as to live, at least we should lessen their pain. But it seems quite impossible. With iPhones in our hands and nuclear bombs in our lands, we still don't know how to kill beings properly. It's real irony.

I felt bad when my plant died this year.

Many links in this post, two more to go: 1 and 2 (century-old entries).
